It tends to hit weaker than Spear tends to, but Lightning Spear does something very special that is quickly becoming the Middle-range category's best asset: the ability to hit multiple monsters that are spaced out from each other, resulting in a higher damage output than Spear's at the end of the day.įire Bow - ★★★. This is quite possibly the worst weapon in the game and should be avoided at all costs. It often does no damage at all over the course of several seconds. As a result it is infuriatingly hard for this weapon to hit its target. Most short-range weapons have a feature that makes them snap to their targets and guarantee a hit if the character is in range. Its homing ability only serves to make it more accurate against the monster it was targeted at, since the balls dissipate quickly after being fired.įire Sword - ★. This weapon is like an Elemental-attribute counterpart to the Bow.

It has no difficulty dealing damage to ceiling trees or flying enemies and that makes it a useful tool to get your hands on. This weapon is a great choice for eliminating standard monsters because its range is long and it always hits for respectable damage. The weapons that will become available soon afterward will make Spear's damage output laughable, but its instant style of attack makes it a weapon of choice once more in Cave 2's Droplet section.īow - ★★★★★.

Random damage output is not enough to stop this weapon from being a powerhouse in Cave 1 since it outranges all of the weak Gels in that area. Picking up this weapon and leveling it up will prove to be incredibly insignificant. Plus, its damage output is nearly the same as that of the Glove. Safer than Glove, but not safe enough to outrange common Gels and Droplets. This is not a good trade-off because better Charge frequency can't prevent your character from getting hurt at almost every encounter with a common monster. Ditches the Arms slot's damage in order to make Charges faster. An overrated weapon which was brought into the spotlight by damage calculation nerds. Despite being obtained from one of the first monsters in the game, Power Glove remains viable all the way to the very end of the Cave series. A character with Power Glove can defend itself from peons and deal great damage to bosses. Hits hard and hits fast for a very nice damage output. At least the Glove always hits its target! But as Glove is the starter weapon, that is perfectly fine, and almost an expectation - Many classic games have starter weapons with tiny range and peashooter damage. Weapons with 1 or 2 ★ ratings may be steered clear of. Weapons with the 3 or 4 ★ ratings are considered to be average. If a weapon has a 5 or 6 ★ rating, I would recommend checking it out. I rate each weapon using a star system, with 6 ★s being the highest rating, and 1 ★ being the lowest. I judge a weapon not only by its power, but more importantly what role it is trying to fill, what stage of the game you can get it in, and its ease of use. 6.2 Approach 5B (Experts Only!): The Melee Challengeīefore we begin, take into consideration how many facets these weapon ratings are going to have.6.1 Approach 5A: Swing through Sky Garden.5.2 Approach 4B (Experts Only!): The Melee Challenge.5.1 Approach 4A: Spears for the Spearman.
